Jarrius “JJ” Robertson surgery was a success and now the beloved Saints fan is recovering according to his father Jordy Robertson.
The surgery was scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Four surgeons worked together diligently to complete the live transplant for JJ.
Although his first transplant at 1 years old did not go so well, it didn’t keep JJ down. He kept fighting and now he has another chance.
According to WAFB, JJ’s mother and siblings along with 20 others were there to support Jarrius. He was in good spirits after the surgery was over. His father posted pictures on Facebook Sunday, giving a update for all the prayer warriors.
Jordy’s caption read:
As a new update for all the Prayers Warriors!!! The Time for a new life and beginning has come and please continue to lift us up in prayer for the next 10 hrs…….This is why we push and fight so hard to save lives jus to show God’s work!!!!
The Louisiana celebrity is known for being the #1 Saints fan and playful trash talking to other players on the opponent’s team. He has a loving spirit and continues to show how strong one can be in any situation in life.
The super die-hard New Orleans Saints fan has been battling biliary atresia, a chronic liver disease, and has undergone several surgeries. The liver disease slows his growth.
Robertson has been fighting for his life for 15 years.
God stepped in right on time for the New Orleans native. His father, Jordy Robertson posted a video on Facebook announcing that JJ will receive a life-saving liver transplant.
“We finally got our hero,” Jordy said, declaring it national JJ day. “As a parent, I prayed for this day, that this day would come. So I need everyone to lift us up in prayer, to pray with us.”
Robertson has his own foundation, “It takes lives to save lives” to help raise awareness for organ transplants. In October of 2016, the Saints signed him to a one-day contract. He was the team’s social media coordinator for a game against the Chiefs.
