Trump Fires FBI Director James Comey on Sessions’ Recommendation

(PPN) – In the history of the FBI, only one chief had ever been fired, until recently.

President Donald Trump has fired FBI Director James Comey on Wednesday, according to the White House.

“Today, President Donald J. Trump informed FBI Director James Comey that he has been terminated and removed from office.,” according to the statement. “President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.”

Comey has led an investigation into Russia’s interference during the 2016 election and possible links to Trump aides and associates.
