The Lambda Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc is making positive impacts in the local community

Baton Rouge (PPN)- The Lambda Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. is making huge progressions within the local community to spread educational awareness and to promote scholarship for graduating seniors. The purpose of the Lambda Alpha Foundation is to promote reading literacy, Postsecondary Education, and to provide mentorship for adolescent males and females in at-risk communities.

Friday, May 11, 2018, the Lambda Alpha Foundation presented Jamia Schofield with a check for five-hundred-dollars at the McKinley High School annual senior breakfast banquet for meeting all the eligibility requirements as stated in the scholarship packet. Jamia Schofield is a graduating senior at McKinley High School. Schofield was accepted at the following schools: Southern University A&M College, Southeastern Louisiana University, and The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Schofield has over a 3.4  cumulative GPA.

“Our job is to make sure that we are here to support the youth in our community. When you see those purple jackets walk in the room, rest assured, that help has arrived. We are here to give them every tool possible to be successful and to make a positive impact in their local community”, said Vice Chairman Daniel Banguel.

The Lambda Alpha Foundation will be giving more awards in the upcoming weeks.
