Balch Spring, TX (PPN) – Dallas County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for a Balch Springs Police officer who fired his rifle into a moving car full of teenagers.
Last Saturday, the teenagers were leaving a party when the officer Roy Oliver killed one of the teens in the front passenger seat.
Oliver has been charged with murder, DCSD are searching for him to take him into custody.
Roy Oliver responded to a call late Saturday night to reports of underage drinking at a house party in the suburb east of downtown Dallas. Once he saw a car leaving the house, he fired his rifle, fatally striking 15-year-old Jordan Edwards.
The Balch Springs police chief fired Oliver on Tuesday.
The arrest warrant was issued the day before Jordan’s funeral on Saturday. Friends and relatives are planning a private funeral at 11 a.m. at Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church in nearby Mesquite, Texas.
