Oklahoma City, OK (PPN) – Russell Westbrook has been a scoring machine throughout this NBA season by averaging a triple-double and breaking records. However, this time instead of breaking a record, he set a new one.
Westbrook has the fifth-most triple-doubles in NBA history but no one has ever accomplished what he did Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. He did not miss one single shot or free throw.
The leading MVP candidate gave a prestige performance. He scored 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists. Also, he did not attempt a single 3-pointer.
Westbrook told reporters after the game with a smile on his face, “that’s pretty interesting”. He went on to say that he tries to take his time on every shot.
“Just making sure I’m on balance before I shoot,” he said of the somewhat unusual shot discipline. “Sometimes I rush ’em, but trying to prepare myself and make sure I’m taking on-balance shots.”
Russell Westbrook became the first player to ever score a triple-double and go perfect from the floor and free throw line. OKC beat the 76ers, 122-97.
