BATON ROUGE – An East Baton Rouge Parish Assistant Chief Administrative Officer of the Mayor-President has resigned.
On Monday, the mayor’s office confirmed the resignation of James Gilmore. Gilmore had been in charge of overseeing the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination (BRAVE) crime-fighting initiative for the mayor’s office.
Dr. Gilmore released a statement stating his last day would be September 1st.
“I have decided to pursue private sector opportunities that will allow me to utilize my skills in a capacity that aligns with my career goals.”
Dr. Gilmore has not given any statements regarding what led to his resignation.
