House Intel gives Trump until Monday to provide wiretapping proof

(PPN) – House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and ranking nember Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) sent a letter to the Justice Department requesting proof of wiretapping claims made by Donald Trump on Twitter.

Eight days ago, Trump tweeted that his Trump Tower offices were wiretapped by the Obama administration but has yet to provide evidence of the accusation.

“You know, there are one of two possibilities here. Either the president quite deliberately, for some reason, made up the charge. Or perhaps, more disturbing, the president really believes this, “Mr. Schiff said.

A spokesperson for Obama denied that he or any White House official called for the surveillance.

Schiff believes this accusation may have ruined Trump’s credibility. He must provide evidence or retract his claim.
