Gunman opened fire at an elementary school in California

San Bernardino, CA – A gunman walked into an elementary school on Monday in San Bernardino and opened fire. According to Chief Jarrod Burguan, a possible murder-suicide occurred inside a classroom at North Park Elementary school in the 5300 block of North H Street.

Four people, including two students and one teacher, were injured at the campus. San Bernardino officer Maria Garcia said the gunman was down and the threat has been contained.

Two people were found dead in the classroom.

The school is on lock down until further notice. The students were being taken to Cajon High School for safety.

Parents are being asked to go to the high school with picture ID in order to pick up their children.

Hillside Elementary School and Cajon High School were on a precautionary lock down as emergency crews responded to aid the victims.

Two students were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The San Bernardino County Fire first confirmed there were multiple victims at approximately 10:45 a.m.
