Fenton flooded twice in 16 months, levee blamed

Fenton, MI (PPN) – In a 16 month period of time, neighborhoods surrounding St. Louis experienced two major flooding’s.

Citizens who live near the Meramec River are hopefully that there no more floods, anytime soon.

“I don’t think I could go through this again,” said resident Christopher Calandro. “It was hard on the family and myself.” Calandro is a local business owner that has lived in Fenton since he was born.

Twice in two years, his chiropractic office was submerged by flood waters.

The Army Corps of Engineers built a levee in Valley Park nearly 10 years ago but it’s too tall.  This has caused e an extra few feet of flooding in other places since the water can’t go into Valley Park as easily.
