Facebook killer Steve Stephens dead

Erie, Penn. – Pennsylvania State Police have confirmed that Steve Stephens is dead. Steve Stephens, the Cleveland murder suspect accused of posting video of the killing on Facebook, was found Tuesday in Erie County, Pennsylvania.

Police made the announcement on Twitter.

“After a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself,” Pennsylvania State Police said.

Stephens, 37, was wanted for the death of Robert Godwin, Sr., a self-taught mechanic and grandfather of 14 who was shot while walking home from an Easter meal Sunday in Cleveland.

He died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds in his white Ford Fusion on Buffalo Road. State police were following his car as it was headed west into the city of Erie.
