Baton Rouge, LA (PPN) – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. on Old Scenic Highway near Groom Road.

Authorities say the driver picked up a man to give him a ride and shot him in the leg. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.

The area was closed off by deputies as the investigation continues.
