Baton Rouge, LA (PPN) – The Department of Justice notified Governor Edwards that the “official” announcement in the Alton Sterling investigation will be given Wednesday morning.
The Washington Post leaked the decision Tuesday, one day before the DOJ contacted the Governor and Mayor of Baton Rouge.
“[It] hurts so bad” Sandra Sterling said after reading the report from The Washington Post.
Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and Gov. Edwards will have a joint press conference about a half hour after the official announcement.
The mother/aunt of Alton Sterling, Sandra Sterling told WBRZ’s Brett Buffington that she will meet with DOJ officials around 11 a.m. privately with the immediate family.
