Dequince Brown free on bond after deputy murdered her boyfriend

Mamou, LA (PPN) – District Attorney Trent Brignac reported that Dequince Brown was released from jail on a $75,000 bond just days after she was arrested on first-degree murder charges for a crime that was committed by a police officer.

The 21-year-old witnessed Evangeline Parish sheriff’s Deputy Paul Holden Lafleur shoot and kill her boyfriend DeJuan Guillory.

In the last 10 years, more than 11,000 black people have been killed by police officers and only 5 white officers have been tried, convicted, and sentenced to jail, according to The Root.
