Denver, CO (PPN) – Nashville’s mayor Megan Barry announced Sunday that her only child, Max Barry overdosed on drugs and died Saturday night in Denver, Colorado.
The mayor and her husband, Bruce Barry released a statement about the sudden lost of their 22-year-old son.
“Early this morning, we received news that no parents should ever have to hear. Our son Max suffered from an overdose and passed away.”
The Barry’s asked for privacy during this difficult time. Max was described in the statement as a person with a kind soul and full of life.
“Our family would greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers, and would respectfully ask for privacy as we mourn the loss of our child and begin to understand a world without his laughter and love in our lives.”
The cause of Max Barry’s overdose has not been released.
