LHSAA Referee calls a player a “nigger” at a Rosepine High School-students refuse to stand for the Anthem

Rosepine, LA (PPN)- Parents contacted Pen Point News regarding a referee calling a student a “nigger” during a football game. The incident happened during the Rosepine vs North Central High School game. Pen Point News Investigative reporter Daniel Banguel contacted parents of North Central High School who were in attendance during that game. According to multiple sources, witnesses said that players were called “nigger” as well as parents. Parents say that at least 100 people follow them out of the game calling them derogatory names. The parents said that once the players were on the bus, students and parents from Rosepine High School began throwing rocks at the bus.

Many people speculate that the heated tension came when players decided to take a knee for the flag.

According to a student’s Facebook post, “after me and another football brother was kneeling, the tension was felt the entire game but I’ll continue to kneel!”

Oliver Thierry, Assistant Football Coach of North Central High School said, “felt like we were in a scene from the 1960’s.”

Parent said that the Principal from North Central High School declined to give a public statement to local media regarding the incident because of the fear of the negative backlash.

Update:

Pen Point News was contacted by several parents from Rosepine High School.  Our publisher Daniel Banguel asked several times regarding the derogatory language being used  and no one could verify if the language was said or not.
