Former Ascension Parish Deputy pleads guilty to 10 counts of child pornography

ASCENSION PARISH, LA (PPN) –  Today, Todd Tripp,  former deputy with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office pleaded guilty to a numerous of charges.

Todd Tripp, 29, of Gonzales, pleaded guilty to ten counts of attempted possession of child pornography and indecent behavior of a juvenile.

Authorities first arrested Tripp in 2013 on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and possession of child pornography. Tripp was accused of sending inappropriate text messages and pictures to a 15-year-old boy.

Following his arrest, Tripp was arrested again for having over 300 counts of possession of child pornography. During a search of Tripp’s house by authorities, detectives found evidence of child pornography on his laptops and cell phone.

Tripp’s latest arrest was for having pornography involving a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor. According to sources, he reportedly was in contact with a 13-year-old boy and was sending comments to him of a sexual nature. A nude photo of a 13-year-old boy from Tennessee was found during a search by authorities.
